My Story

I would like to share with you a little piece of my story. After going through a painful divorce and letting go of my corporate position, I knew there was more to living than just making it through the day and collecting another pay check just to get by. I was determined at the age of 40 to make sure my next 40 years will impact my life in new ways. This does not mean that I will never face another storm, because I will. It only means that I will learn to stand strong and gain strength through the duration of the storms that blow my way; I will choose to respond to such circumstances in a way that will make my life, not break it!

You see, we all have a chance in this life! These things that are happening aren't exclusive to you, or me but many people are facing the very same circumstances we are. Addictions, Divorces, Deaths, Diseases, Poor Health, Anger, Rebellious Kids, to name a few. But for our circumstances to change WE have to change. We do not wish for things to be easier, we find a way to handle it better! We do not wish for fewer problems, we take charge and develop skills to handle them all! The circumstances aren't what need to be changed, but it is US that needs it!

As for me, I am very goal orientated; I make my 10 year, 5 year and 1 year goals; I wake up every day and I am an intentional-perfectionist about my plans and goals for the day. I'd love to think this brings peace, but I have come to learn that life is very unexpected, and that's what makes it exciting! Unexpected things can bring about days that are good or not so good, to be very honest some of those days may turn into years. I also like to think that I can figure everything out and make sense of it all, but not everything can be figured out. There is only one thing I can guarantee you; you can always expect something unexpected. There are things ahead that you just cannot plan for, the only thing you can do is breathe and when everything looks half empty, you can realize just how full your life really is!

2007 was the year that I began writing a new story. That year I ran the Chicago Marathon at the age of 40. Then in 2008 I raced in the half IRONMAN in Muncie Indiana. In 2009 I raced in the swim from Alcatraz in San Francisco California: and in 2010 I ran the Surf City Marathon in Huntington Beach, California. Finally, this has lead me to biking across America the summer of 2011 to raise money for an orphanage, Springs of Hope in Africa. My mission along the way is to connect with as many people as possible, talking, listening, and encouraging them to take steps towards making their dreams a reality while raising and addressing the spiritual, mental and physical issues Americans struggle with today. I will make this journey across America to rise up a new generation of young people that would transform the world with one changed life at a time.

What is your story? Are you ready to take the risk and change it?
